剧中讲了几个家庭的情感故事，居然每个家庭都在闹离婚（或者是同居的闹分手），这不由得不令人生疑：现实生活中的家庭婚姻关系已经脆弱到这种程度了吗？离婚率高到这种程度了吗？一位忠实追看了好几集的朋友前几天愤然告诉我，本来是挺想看看言情剧的，但现在她实在追不下去了。“剧情太脱离生活了！哪有那样的女儿，居然拚命去拆散自己的家庭，愣要把父母各自婚前的情人找来，让大家统统离婚，折腾来折腾去，再凑成两个家庭！”这个女儿确实很新潮，就是不能让人接受。而父母竟然让这个小女儿玩得团团转，果然是离的离结的结，简直就像是小孩儿在过家家。主人公谢晓华跟吴巧云更是一对活宝，两人离婚后分别再婚竟然又分别想离婚而后再复婚，让人不明所以（民政部门得增加多少工作量啊！）。剧情脱离生活，再怎么样都难以煽情，剧中人忙着他们的离婚和结婚，而我们在一旁哂笑。
《暗礁》由Poppy Montgomer y及Ken Sanzel共同开发，剧中讲述前飞贼的女主Cat Chambers当起了问题解决者（《寻人密探组 Without a Trace》及《记忆神探 Unforgettable》的Poppy Montgomery饰），她为一处犹如天堂般的太平洋小岛的总督处理各种问题；Cat的犯罪过去令她最为了解罪犯的想法，因此她对这工作可谓是得心应手。
该剧由艾里克斯·库兹曼([蜘蛛侠：英雄归来])自编自导，詹妮·吕美特([蕾切尔的婚礼])共同参与编剧，该剧根据1976年大卫·鲍伊主演的电影[天外来客]改编，故事以沃尔特·特维斯撰写的同名科幻小说为基础，讲述一个外星人在人类进化的转折点来到地球，他必须直面自己的过去以决定人类的未来
