本片是香港无线电视台TVB把1980年版经典剧集《上海滩》重新剪辑而成，分电影《上海滩》和《上海滩续集》两部作品，分别于1983年1月20日和1月25日在院线上映。
电影《谎言八百》系列的今井雅子执笔剧本的本作品的主人公是生活在京都的町医柿木空吉。专门出诊的他虽然是一位干练的医生，但他却连患者的购物和盆栽的修理都接受了。有一天，离婚12年没有联系的女儿·雅子突然出现在空吉身边。看着空吉动摇的样子，雅子宣言暂时待在京都。笨拙关系的父亲和女儿，在京都的街道和人们的接触中一点一点地心灵相通。
