十五年前苏南盘溪镇，著名扇庄“孤烟堂”在一夜间突遭灭门的悲剧。林家长女林含雪幸免于难，落在“多宝阁”扇庄庄主徐宝堂家。徐宝堂因溥仪十岁诞辰进贡的极品骨扇而获“皇上”的褒奖，被钦点为小朝廷内务府的采买，赏三品顶戴。徐宝堂回到盘溪镇扇庄，立即把皇上奖赏的玉镯送予小女儿含雪，因为扇面上狂放的劲草就是她的杰作，但含雪却从端康太妃亲赐的文房四宝中挑走了湖州笔。
