《芝加哥医院》是《芝加哥烈焰》（Chicago Fire）的第二部衍生剧，故事描述芝加哥城中最繁忙的一家医院的日常工作——这里有一支勇敢无惧的医护团队，他们团结一致，敢于面对任何风险。每当特定事件（灾难）中的病人需要救治，或者遇到别的医生束手无策的疑难杂症，就轮到他们上场了。与此同时，他们在混乱的急诊室里培养出紧密的关系并一起渡过难关。根据NBC的构想，该剧和《芝加哥烈焰》、《芝加哥警署》将经常交换角色和情节，使三个团队（三部剧集）有机地融和在一起。Yaya DaCosta扮演长相迷人的住院护士Maggie Seaver，是《芝加哥烈焰》核心角色Kelly（Taylor Kinney）的新女友。事实上，他们高中时代就曾是一对恋人，但Kelly在某件事上一直亏欠她。当然，他们都经历了一段艰难岁月，因此一开始他们的关系只是单纯的友情。Severide很高兴能再见到她并与她坐下来好好谈心。
