系列电视剧《水晶眼》是一部不同于当前同类型剧集的单元套剧。二十集四个单元，以更人性化的视角与罪犯展开了斗智斗勇的生死较量，并重点讲述了雷鸣、麦欧这对暗含感情的男女搭档在这些案件中对刑警的新定义，抓罪犯的终极目标并不是把他们送进监狱，而是拯救他们的心灵，让他们重新做人。 雷鸣、麦欧在侦破的过程也同样经受着种种考验，其间既有个人感情与国家利益的冲突、也有引导罪犯走向光明的社会责任、更有利欲对他们的考验以及高智商超完美的案件等待着他们的破解，并在最后诠释出新时代刑警在日益高科技化的犯罪中需要更多的革新与默契！ 他们是现代的新型特警 ，在侦破案件的过程中，经受着种种考验——其间既有个人感情与国家利益的冲突，更有利欲对他们的诱惑。最终，他们捍卫了新时代刑警的形象。《水晶眼》里面有四个破案故事，主要表现刑警队重案组雷鸣和搭档麦欧明察秋毫，抽丝剥茧，侦破了一个个错综复杂的刑事及民事案件的故事，展现了新时期人民警察的精神风貌，同时也对现代社会中那些被扭曲的人性和变态的情爱进行反思。
